One of my
favourite direct response copywriters is Joe Vitale. As the world's first
"hypnotic writer", Joe has the strange power to take you in with every
word he says.
I
recently managed to get my hands on a copy of his "Unspoken Marketing
Secrets". He offers 47 marketing "truisms" that he compiled from years of
experience in marketing and copywriting.
If you
ever have a chance to get yourself this book, go get it because it is now
one of the 3 books I have beside me each time I find myself writing a new
copy.
I
particularly like Truism #13: People know when you are lying, though some
may mistrust their own instincts.
In my
other article I mentioned a particular "Internet" guru who offered the
most engaging sales letter I ever read. This highly powerful sales piece
is written to pitch his $197 e-book.
I was
very impressed with the sales letter. It was almost perfect. I would have
bought the product at once on a normal day, but *something* was holding me
back.
I found
myself hesitating at the Order Form.
In the
next few days I found myself revisiting and re-reading that sales letter
many more times. Logic told me that buying his product would bring me much
"pleasure", but my gut feeling and intuition kept holding me back.
Just
recently I searched the Internet for this guru's name. It appears that a
lot of people are unsatisfied about his product and had some trouble
claiming their refunds.
I cannot
help but thank my intuition for its guidance.
No sales
letter in the world will be able to undermine powers of our subconscious
mind or these so called "gut feelings".
